Privacy notice

The data we use, why we need it, and how to exercise your rights.

Controller and contact

Memogadget Unipessoal, Lda., identified below, is responsible for personal data processed through Memo Domains. Contact comercial@memogadget.com for data protection requests.

Data and purposes

Domain searches send the domain name to our server and to Dynadot to check availability and prices. Technical information, including IP address, is used for security and request limits. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information in a domain search.

When account access is enabled, we process the account name, email address, password hash, verification and recovery tokens, session information and optional two-factor credentials to provide and protect the account. Two-factor secrets are encrypted and recovery codes are stored as hashes.

Billing details include the customer type, legal name, address, country and tax number. EU company VAT numbers may be checked with the European Commission VIES service. We retain the time, result, response and consultation identifier where supplied, to support the fiscal treatment of a transaction. A request for special tax treatment is reviewed separately.

Legal bases

Account and service data are processed to take steps at your request or perform a contract. Billing and tax evidence support legal obligations. Security controls rely on our legitimate interest in protecting customers and the service. Optional marketing or non-essential tracking requires a separate choice; neither is currently activated on this website.

Recipients and international processing

DreamHost hosts the application in the United States. Dynadot receives domain queries and, when commercial operations are enabled, the information required for the registrar service. Assist is intended to issue invoices, handle payment confirmations and send renewal notices. The European Commission and the relevant Member State administration process VIES enquiries.

We limit information to the relevant purpose. Before enabling customer transactions, the applicable processor agreements and safeguards for transfers outside the EEA must be confirmed. Information about the safeguards applicable to your data can be requested through the contact below.

Retention

Account data are retained while needed to maintain the account or resolve an outstanding obligation. Fiscal records and transaction evidence are retained for the applicable statutory period, including after account closure where required. Security logs and request records are retained only as needed for their security purpose and the hosting retention arrangements.

A later VIES result does not replace evidence retained for an earlier transaction. Access to fiscal evidence is restricted; it is not published in domain results or exposed to other customers.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing where the GDPR provides those rights. Statutory retention obligations may prevent immediate deletion of tax records. You may complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, CNPD, or your competent supervisory authority.

We do not make a final tax exemption decision solely from a VIES response. No automated profiling for advertising is used on this website.
